Karen believes in truly connecting with each patient. She believes in slowing down, listening closely and treating each patient like the unique individual that they are. Her goal is to create a positive healing experience built on trust compassion and personalized care.
Karen has a decade of experience in family medicine, she has served as sole provider in both private and corporate primary care and urgent care settings. Karen's foundation was built training alongside a respected local primary care provider, and she remains committed to delivering thoughtful, community-centered care.
Karen got her start in healthcare as a local 911 paramedic, where she learned quickly that no two patients—or situations—are ever the same. That experience taught her how to assess not just symptoms or readings on a machine, but the whole person. Today, as a practitioner, she continues to make care decisions based on each patient’s unique goals, needs, and life experiences.
Karen has a modern-day Brady Bunch—five grown kids between her and her husband John, now living across three different states. Life with a blended family has taught Karen patience, flexibility, and the value of truly listening—lessons she bring into every patient interaction. Just like at home, she believes care works best when it’s personal, thoughtful, and built on trust.
Karen and her husband are huge Atlanta Braves fans, and one of our favorite adventures is working our way toward visiting every MLB ballpark. Beyond baseball, Karen is a big supporter of the Washington Commanders and England’s National Rugby and Soccer teams. Whether it’s on the field or in the stands, sports have always been a fun part of our story.
CFP has to include Otis, with a disclaimer, if you ever have a Telehealth Visit with Karen and you hear what sounds like a grown man snoring, don't be alarmed it is just her 100lb Bullmastiff Otis in the office doing what he does best, sleeping!

Absolutely! As a Family Nurse Practitioner, I diagnose, treat, prescribe, and manage care—just with different letters after my name.
Yes! From toddlers to grandparents, I’ve got your whole crew covered—think of me as your healthcare multitasker.
I was born and raised in Birmingham, England (not Birmingham, Alabama despite what my husband may try to tell you). I’ve been in the US since 1992.
Not if I can help it—and if it does, I promise I’ll offer sympathy and a cool Band-Aid.
